Yasmin holds a BA in English as well as a post-graduate diploma in Translation; she also has certificates in Localization Engineering, and Programming.
Since 2002, she has been working as an in-house and freelance English-Arabic Translator and Localizer. Although she distinguished herself by her literary style in writing and translation, she showed a great interest in Localization Engineering, Translation Technology and Natural Language Processing; thus, she enhanced this interest through academic study and hands-on experience.
Skilled in diverse Computer-Aided Translation (CAT) tools, she conducted several CAT courses, in cooperation with the Translator Training Centre at the Arabic Translation & Intercultural Dialogue Association (ATIDA) and other institutes.
From September 2009 to January 2017, Yasmin worked for Wordfast, first as part of the Wordfast Technical Support Team, dedicating much of her time and effort to Wordfast Pro, and then as Wordfast Customer Relationship Manager.
In 2014, Yasmin started implementing Machine Translation engines in cooperation with a big localization company, and since then she has been pursuing her research on Statistical and Neural Machine Translation.
Yasmin is currently offering Machine Translation consultancy to companies and organizations. She is also cooperating with Wordfast, LLC in big Machine Translation projects.
