Translating ASPX files in WFP

By default, Wordfast Pro can open ASP files without any preparations. On the other hand, to open an ASPX file in Wordfast Pro, you need first to use a rules (*.properties) file.

  • Go to Edit menu > Preferences > Formats > New > Text-based Filter.
  • Use the browse button [...] to locate the "Conversion rules" (*.properties) file at a location like: C:\Program Files\Wordfast\rules\ASP.properties.
  • Make sure the "Extension" textbox shows *.aspx and save the settings (OK).
  • You should be able to open the ASPX file in WFP (File menu > Open file).

Please make sure the TXML file includes all the translatable strings in the ASPX; this method is NOT officially supported.
