Some translators ask how to use Ctrl+Alt+Arrows for both Placeables and Terminology (as in Wordfast Classic).

Actually, Ctrl+Alt+Arrows in Wordfast Pro are for selecting and inserting "only Tags" not terminology while the Ctrl+Alt+8/9/0 shortcuts are for selecting and inserting Terminology. On the other hand, Ctrl+Shift+Arrows are for selecting both tags and terminology.

If you like, you can change these shortcuts.

  • Go to WFP "Edit" > "Preferences" > "Keys"
  • Place the cursor on the command "Next Placeable" (and later, "Previous Placeable", and then "Copy Placeable"); you should now see the shortcut Ctrl+Alt+Right in the textbox labelled "Binding".
  • Remove it by your "Backspace" or by clicking on the "Remove Binding" button. Make sure the textbox is empty.
  • APPLY
  • Place the cursor on the command "Next Term/Placeable" (and later, "Previous Term/Placeable", and then "Copy Term/Placeable"); you should now see the shortcut Ctrl+Shift+Right in the textbox labelled "Binding".
  • Remove it by your "Backspace" or by clicking on the "Remove Binding" button. Make sure the textbox is empty.
  • In the textbox labelled "Binding", press the shortcut Ctrl+Alt+Right on your keyboard.
  • Click "OK" to save changes.

Now, you should be able to use Ctrl+Alt+Right to select both tags and terminology. Follow the same steps to be able to use Ctrl+Alt+Down to insert both tags and terminology.
